The Miss Universe Organization will live stream the 2012 MISS UNIVERSE® Preliminary Competition and National Costume Show on http://www.missuniverse.com, and giving fans the opportunity to access the exclusive events from anywhere around the world.
Preliminary Competition: The live stream will begin on Thursday, December 14 at 11 a.m. (PHL Time), where fans can watch as the competition heats up! All 89 contestants will have their chance to display their poise and confidence to the judges in their swimsuit and evening gown. The 16 semifinalists will then be announced at the Miss Universe Competition on December 20.

‘Train’ set to perform at the Miss Universe Live Telecast on December 20th (Philippine Time)

Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that three-time Grammy-Award winning band, Train, is set to perform at the 61ST Annual MISS UNIVERSE® Competition. The worldwide telecast will be broadcast live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday, December 20, 9:30am PHILIPPINE TIME on ABS CBN (December 19 in the US, 8 p.m. ET on NBC with a Spanish simulcast on Telemundo)
Hailing from San Francisco, the multi-platinum selling band Train just wrapped up a sold-out headlining tour across the US in support of their current gold album CALIFORNIA 37, which features the hits “50 Ways To Say Goodbye” and “Drive By.” The Grammy-winning band is also known for chart-topping singles “Drop Of Jupiter, “Hey Soul Sister” and more.
The band will perform a special three-song medley during the swimsuit competition including hits “Drive By,” “Mermaid” and “Shake Up Christmas.”
Train joins an exciting talent line-up that already includes Andy Cohen and Giuliana Rancic as hosts of the telecast.

L’ORÉAL BUYS URBAN DECAY COSMETICS!
Great News to all Beauty Junkies! L’Oréal announced that they acquired Urban Decay, a brand known for its colorful pigments and the largest independently owned color cosmetic company in the United States. Adding to L’Oréal’s luxe portfolio of brands including Clarisonic, YSL Beauté, and Lancome, Urban Decay is a more youthful, edgy addition to the cosmetics giant. UD will report to L’Oréal Luxe USA president Carol Hamilton, and subject to approval, the acquisition should go into effect by end of year.
